Daryl A. Boffman has served on the Board since his appointment by the Governor in July 2000. Mr. Boffman was elected to serve a 4-year term from December 2002-06, then re-elected to serve December 2006-10. He was BOE vice president from December 2001-02 and president December 2007-08. He serves on the Curriculum and Instruction Committee and is the liaison to the Career and Technology Advisory Council.
 
Mr. Boffman is president/CEO of Acela Technologies, Inc. in Frederick. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in business management from Hampton University.
 
His public service and recognition have included membership on the board of Heartly House, captain in the U.S. Army and president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity"s Beta Gamma Chapter. He won an Outstanding Young Men in America Award in 1985, and the Outstanding Achievement Award from Computer Technology Services in 1998. Mr. Boffman became a member of the Banking Million Dollar Club in 1990, recieved the 2005 Tech Council of Maryland Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Maryland’s 2006 Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award, and The Gazette of Politics and Business distinction as One of the Top 25 CEO’s You Should Know.
